Reports To:   Satellite Tech III Team Leader and Director of Food Service

 

Summary

 

The Food Service Assistant (FSA) is responsible for assisting in the preparation and service of school meals. The FSA is responsible for strictly following all food safety procedures, practicing excellent customer service, understanding serving sizes and portion tools as specified in production records, general cleaning, dishwashing, and other duties as assigned.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Reports to work on time and is not absent frequently
  • Follows established rules and practices
  • Responsible for completing duties in a timely manner according to production schedule
  • Prepares food according to food safety plan
  • Serves and holds food as directed
  • Sets up and displays the serving line in an attractive and efficient manner
  • Assists with taking and logging accurate temperatures
  • Washes pots, pans, utensils, and other equipment as directed
  • Maintains health, safety, and sanitation standards for staff, students, and equipment at all times
  • Responsible for maintaining a professional and courteous attitude with fellow employees, building staff, students and parents
  • Positively promotes the child nutrition program and communicates well with parents, students, staff, and the community.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Able to work cooperatively with fellow  staff  and children
  • Excellent Customer Service
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
