Work Schedule:  39 weeks per school year

General Description

The Food Service Satellite manager is responsible for the supervision, training and management of food service operation at multiple sites (Coolspring, Edgewood, Joy, Knapp, Marsh, and Head Start). Provides hands on leadership, support and guidance to ensure that food quality standards, inventory levels, food safety and HACCP guidelines and customer service expectations are met. Must maintain accurate records compliant with all local, state and federal guidelines. Is responsible for staff scheduling at satellite schools and will perform other duties as assigned.

 

ESSENTITAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to work on time and is not absent frequently.
  • Follows federal, state and local regulations. Communicates changes to employees.
  • Receives and handles food and supplies according to HACCP Food Safety Plan.
  • Organizes and orders school food and supplies by establishing accurate par levels and communication with vendors and prepares pick list for deliveries.
  • Performs monthly inventory.
  • Communicates with Satellite schools via email or phone to ensure smooth ordering and delivery process and responds to questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Responsible for understanding the basic principles by which federal child nutrition programs are operated and keeps up to date on current issues.
  • Responsible for maintaining a professional and courteous attitude with fellow employees, building staff and students.
  • Provides exceptional customer service, including participating in marketing and nutrition education promotions.
  • Visits satellite kitchens and meets with staff frequently.
  • Attends required meetings and participates in professional development.
  • Submits all required reports and records on time.
  • Performs annual performance evaluations of employees.
  • Provides on-the-job training and creates work/cleaning schedules for employees.
  • Promotes employee professional growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork.
  • Responsible for scheduling, training, and administering corrective action according to the MCCA negotiated contract.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in school food service
  • Must be ServSafe® certified or have the ability to become certified
  • Valid Driver’s License with no restrictions
  • Proficient in computer technology including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent basic arithmetic skills

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and continuously required to stand.  The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools or utensils.  The employee must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds such as milk crates, cases of frozen or canned food, portable equipment, etc.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception peripheral vision, and color vision.

Salary and Benefits

 

Payment Type:  $20.25 per hour
