Immediate Supervisor: Site Coordinator

Collaborative RELATIONSHIPS between the program staff, community partners, and day school staff result in a dynamic EDUCATIONAL experience incorporating real-world context with conceptual learning. Safe Harbor ensures SAFETY for students and peace of mind for families while providing top-tier experiential and enrichment opportunities in the afterschool hours/out-of-school time hours.
Specific Duties
- Assist in preparation and monitoring of daily snack distribution and enrichment programming.
- Assist with sign-in of students for Safe Harbor and specific enrichment sessions.
- Walk students to and from enrichment sessions.
- Monitor student behavior
- Supervise restroom breaks
- Meet with teachers and Site Coordinator regularly to track student homework, progress, etc.
- Keep parents/guardians informed of student homework progress and improvements.
- Complete other tasks as requested by the Site Coordinator
- Become familiar with on-line resources for academic enrichment and how to access them
- Become familiar with Safe Harbor Enrichment curriculums
- Lead enrichment sessions as outlined by the Program Coordinator, Program Manager, and Site Coordinator.
- Monitor students while community partners are leading activities.
- Make proper use of Disciplinary Referral forms when necessary.
- Follow proper procedures for accepting payments when required.

- No cell phone use (unless in the case of an emergency).
- Communicate effectively with building personnel & parents.
Basic Responsibilities
- Exhibit an understanding of Safe Harbor procedures and expectations as outlined in the staff handbook
- Maintain an inviting, safe, orderly environment.
- Be responsible for classroom management and student discipline.
- Be responsible for the maintenance of the program area.
- Know emergency procedures.
Education and Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Reliable transportation.
- Excellent attendance record in previous employment.
- Annual TB test and criminal background check, drug test, CPR/First Aid, Abuse Training
- Previous experience working with children is a necessity.
Salary and Benefits
Payment Type: Hourly, no benefits per grant cycle
