General Purpose
The Assistant Coach is a key individual in the MCAS athletic program. The Assistant Coach is responsible for promoting the highest type of conduct from each athlete.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assists with coordinating the total program with the Head Coach and other assistant coaches
- Assist with all aspects of any team-specific fundraising
- Assist with encouraging team participation in Athletic Department fundraisings
- Communicate with the Athletic Director
- Assist with organizing and planning all activities and practices
- Attend all required Athletic Department, DAC and IHSAA meetings
- Assist the Head Coach with documentation in regards to physicals; consent; rosters; awards; eligibility; emergency medical forms; and any other required information in the time frame set forth by the Athletic Department
- Complete the IHSAA/NFHS coach certification program
- Assist the Head Coach with communicating with college recruiters and help to arrange appropriate meetings
- Assumes duties which the Athletic Director or Principal deem necessary for the improvement of the program
- Be present at all practices and contests, providing assistance, guidance, and safeguards for each participant. Ensure that athletes are supervised at all times.
- Assist Head Coach with all equipment and uniforms including the safety, inventory, and storage and to be sure the annual update of inventory to the Athletic Department is promptly turned in after the season ends.
- Follow all District, School and Athletic Department policies and procedures.
