General Purpose
The Head Coach is a key individual in the MCAS athletic program. The Head Coach is responsible for promoting the highest type of conduct from each athlete.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Oversee the total sport program, K-12, with the assistance of the assistant coaches and provide guidance to all coaching staff
- Communicate with the Athletic Director
- Organize, plan, and coach all activities and practices
- Attend all required Athletic Department, DAC and IHSAA meetings
- Provides documentation in regards to physicals; consent; rosters; awards; eligibility; emergency medical forms; and any other required information in the time frame set forth by the Athletic Department
- Complete the IHSAA/NFHS coach certification program
- Monitor academic performance and assist with college opportunities
- Lead fundraising effort for sport program
- Assumes duties which the Athletic Director or Principal deem necessary for the improvement of the program
- Be present at all practices and contests, providing assistance, guidance, and safeguards for each participant. Ensure that athletes are supervised at all times.
- Will be accountable for all equipment and uniforms including the safety, inventory, and storage. Will be required to submit an annual update of inventory to the Athletic Department promptly after the season ends.
- Follow all District, School and Athletic Department policies and procedures.
